Thanks to Shoujo Magic’s excellent scanlations, I’ve been able to enjoy reading this juicy title and haven’t been able to put it down since. Once I get addicted to something, I can’t get enough of it, and such is the case with this controversial story about forbidden love between brother and sister. I don’t need to tell you how excited I was to find out that an OAV was available and subbed, so I promptly downloaded and watched it. I know that I’m months behind everyone else in blogging this since I’ve only recently delved into the world of shoujo manga, but I would like to share my thoughts on this anyhow. 
With the manga fresh in my mind, I’ve noticed that the biggest difference about the OVA is the character design. Iku and Yori, especially, are more aesthetically pleasing in the manga, but thankfully they’re not drawn dramatically different or abhorrently ugly in the anime, so it’s not really a complaint but more of a nitpick of mine. I also noticed that some of the scenes were completely omitted or shortened, and I can only guess that the changes were due to time constraints. In any case, I just love the fact that I can watch this right after reading the manga.

Iku has always felt a close connection to her twin brother Yori since childhood, but recently Yori’s been acting distant and even cold toward her for no apparent reason. He walks away from her whenever she tries to touch him, and everything that comes out of his mouth is a negative remark. She doesn’t know what she’s done to cause him to hate her, but something has definitely changed between them. He especially gets upset at her for talking about wanting a boyfriend of her own, and his anger is so hurtful that she runs to her bed crying. Torn between his feelings and his guilty conscience, he decides to go with his feelings and kisses her softly on the lips as an apology for his past behavior. He finally confesses to her that he’s never seen her as his sister but as a woman that he’s loved since the day they were born. Even though he knows it’s wrong and immoral to lust after his sister, he can’t help the feelings that he has for her and begs her to love him in return not as a brother but as a man. Filled with confusion and emotional turmoil for wanting to continue seeing Yori as a brother and now possibly loving him as a man, she’s unable to decide on her feelings for him until a couple of obstacles are thrown in her direction – discovering that her best friend Tomoka slept with Yori and the realization that he’s moving away to attend a different high school – allows her to make her decision. Scared that she’ll be apart from him if she doesn’t take any action to keep her brother by her side, she makes a promise to love him as a man and kisses him passionately on the lips. And their love story begins…

I think one of the elements that drew me to this story is the fact that it’s such an alluring tale about a brother and sister falling in love. How often do we read about that? Well, I can only speak for myself and I haven’t read much about this topic. Also, it’s so morally wrong that it makes it an even more enticing read. I have to admit that there were a few times where I did feel a little uncomfortable about reading/watching them making out with each other (especially the church scene), but it’s also easy to forget that they are siblings simply because of the fact that they love each other so much. Does it mean that I approve of incest because I enjoy reading about it? Well, I certainly think I’ve been programmed to believe that it’s wrong. Now, if you’re thinking, would I ever engage in a sexual relationship with my own brother, my answer would be: HELL NO. It has nothing to do with him personally, but I just have no physical, emotional, or mental attraction to him whatsoever.
I felt that this was a pretty good adaptation of the manga, and I’m glad that the majority of the scenes were included in the OAV. The only thing I didn’t like about it was the fact that they didn’t include their internal dialogue, and I felt that it would’ve made it much clearer for the audience to understand their feelings better. I also felt that they rushed the story just a bit too much to really care much for any of the characters all that much, and it didn’t give enough time to have a real emotional response to their love story. If I hadn’t read the manga beforehand, I honestly don’t know if I would’ve even watched this story or enjoyed it as much as I did. However, I would certainly recommend it to anyone who hasn’t read the manga since it’s still very entertaining and includes many of the steamy love scenes (less explicit than in the manga, though) as well as many of the emotional aspects of their complicated relationship.

I found this anime by accident yesterday and today i finished reading up to vol.5 ch 23 of the manga. I totally agree that the books give more information but the anime was awsome. I also agree that you have to kind of forget that they are brother and sister to enjoy it. Though you know it is wrong you almost feel bad for them at the same time because they really do love each other. BUt wouldn’t it be great if they were both adopted or at least one of them was. I don’t find this anime disgusting since the two characters don’t look like they have blood relations at all! I mean Iku’s hair is pink and Yori’s hair is brown? And there’s not much emphasis on their ’sibling’ bond, since it has been them feeling sexually attracted to each other since the beginning. So yea, I find this manga extremely entertaining, just that the anime could have been better, I mean some drawings of Iku seemed so ugly.
And about Shoujo Magic discontinuing it, how sad can that be? Oh how I wish I know how to read Japanese, that would be so good indeed. Hope another scanlation group realises the appeal of this manga and pick it up.
And i went to google to find the images of koi kaze, and I thought the guy is so ugly. The girl is not the typical anime cute kind of girl but it’s tolerable, but the guy? Let’s just say that because of his fat and ugly image I’m put off from watching Koi Kaze.

I first watched the movie, and thought how sad and touching the story was. I just had to read the manga and it was sooo good! im sooo dissapointed that they stopped making the English version because there is supposed to be 10 volumes but they stopped at 5 and i was soooo sad
i wonder what the ending will be like, and i will keep researching for the english volumes! oh and i heard there were episodes to the manga??? i don’t know if that’s true but i’ll check it out rite now!!!

I think it is really sad how they end up brother and sister, they really do love each other. I think the end would turn out differently if they weren’t related, it would turn out how they wished it would be; guiltless.
I see past the incest,
towards the pure and hopeless love they have towards one another.

it’s disgusting whoever like such a thing, is a sick person whoever he is. the ending is bad, no action at all, it’s just about a brother & sister love each other, so what! what’s the great thing about it. it’s because it’s weird & different idea people like it, I never thought it will end like that, I imagined something else… I think I’m gonna throw up
omg. I haven’t read the manga yet. But,i think it’s interesting. I mean,it’s not everyday that I’d see siblings in love with each other. The fact that the story is like that makes the whole story disgusting. I mean, can you imagine falling in love with your broher/sister
? I guess even the idea of falling in love with your sibling is sickening. But that’s why the story is unique. I think it’s sweet. But I just hope that in real life nothing like that would ever happen.
I’ve finished watching the movie by Matsumoto Jun, I became curious in a way, after reading the synopsis. The idea itself is scandalous that makes you more curious about the incestuous relationship the story has, and as expected, it was ofcourse, inconclusive. I don’t know about the manga but for what it’s worth, for me this story seems a bit of a cliché.
