Children are very strange when it comes to their feelings, and Eureka’s children are no exception. They pick on Renton when he’s around and act like he’s nothing but a nuisance, yet they’re missing him and even on the verge of tears now that he’s gone. They should make up their minds on how they really feel about him and treat him nicely if they care for him. Eureka’s been having the hardest time of all with having to deal not just with Renton’s disappearance, but also with the Nirvash’s refusal to cooperate with her. It’s as if she’s totally shut Eureka out and will now only accept Renton as her pilot. It’s quite surprising to see Eureka clinging so tightly to Renton’s old uniform and even snatching it away from Holland as if his tainted hands would somehow jinx Renton from returning safely to the Gekko Go. It’s been days since Holland hasn’t managed to piss somebody off with his stubbornness, and today is no exception. He decides to scrap his mission on finding Renton in order to avoid having to fight Ray and Charles, but this doesn’t go well with Eureka at all. She’s so fed up with both the Nirvash and Holland that she decides to part from the Gekko Go and look for Renton herself on a Ref board. However, Renton has returned to the Gekko Go ONLY to see her again but he (nor anyone else) is aware that she’s no longer on the ship! Holland’s talking from his ego again and refuses to acknowledge Renton even though everyone has reminded him that he’s been looking for him, but he can’t allow his enormous ego to be bruised by the likes of a kid like Renton. What they don’t realize, however, is that Eureka is in major trouble now that she’s been targeted by Ray and Charles. She tries her best to avoid being hit directly by gunfire but loses her communication device in the process and is left to fend for herself. It’s been days since we’ve seen Eureka doing anything remotely interesting, and it’s nice to see her in action again, but not like this. Charles tries to grab her with his LFO but fails to capture her and tries to keep her alive by retrieving her when she loses her grip on his LFO and descends quickly toward her death. She’s prepared to die and apologizes to her children for failing to keep her promise of protecting them, but her knight and shining armor comes to her rescue just in time. It’s such a gripping scene as we finally get to see Charles and Renton in the skies together on opposing sides this time. It’s not quite the intense fight that I expected as both parties decided not to point guns at each other and Charles allowed Renton get away most likely due to his sentimental feelings for his “son,” but it was nice to see them together again (albeit in totally different circumstances now). With Eureka now safely in his arms, Renton is able to utilize the power of the Amita Drive and is safely able to immobilize the military ships without having to kill anyone, and this is how he prefers to fight. Just when you think that everything is back to normal, we see a sinister-looking Charles pointing a gun at the Gekko Go. It looks like we’ll be seeing more of our beloved Charles in the near future… (As you can tell, I have a crush on this man…don’t ask me why. :P)
What an AMAZING episode! Words alone cannot describe how incredible this episode is. If you haven’t watched it yet, you should definitely find some time to watch this one episode. Even if you don’t like this series, you should invest some time to watch this episode! It’ll definitely be worth your time, and I guarantee that you’ll break into a heart-pumping sweat without even moving a muscle! I love the fact that Eureka decided to do something on her own rather than depending on others, and it ended well for her in the long run. She was able to see Renton again and even spent some time alone with him – Gekko Go style, though. Do you think for a minute that they’d leave them alone? Of course not! It’s their job to eavesdrop on those they love. Holland has also figured out what he’s supposed to do, and it’s not by beating up Renton and making him feel like he’s nothing but a piece of shit on the ground. Perhaps he’ll learn to accept Renton and treat him with the decency and respect that he rightfully deserves as a member of the Gekkostate and especially as Adrock Thurston’s son. Charles, meanwhile, is truly going to be a challenge for Holland, and it’ll only be appropriate to see a battle between these two former comrades unfold. Of course, there’s Renton to contend with now as well, and it’ll be interesting to see what will happen beyond this point. I’m so excited after watching this episode that I feel like I can run a marathon now.

I agree this was an excellent episode. I believe that you are the only person blogging about one of my favorite series.
First post this time!
Episode 26 was really a fitting end to the second season, especially since it brought a few important things to a close. First of all, Renton came back from the Hakucho-Go, which was completion of that arc. Then there’s Eureka starting to take initiative, which leads into the third season. And finally, it’s a great setup for the pace of the third season, which revolves around a series of other conflicts.
What I didn’t like about 26 was how Renton’s attitude resembles Kira Yamato’s in the Gundam SEED universe. Kira pissed me off. A lot. But enough about that…
You’re finally caught up, and 27 and 28 are almost ready ^_^
EDIT: I forgot to mention that this very ego of Holland’s gets a lot revealed about it soon, and once it’s fully explained, it becomes fully clear why Holland acts towards Renton the way he does.
@silverfire - Holy crap, you should slap yourself for comparing Renton to Kira. lol
Anyway, I agree that it was an amazing episode. You say you don’t read other posts before you make your own. That means our minds must really think alike when it comes to this stuff since most of my thoughts were most exactly like yours.
The Holland/Charles/Renton conflict should be VERY interesting. I’ve been waiting for that ever since Charles met Dewey when he and Ray were first introduced.
You managed to catch up far faster than I thought you would have. Your entries are great.
@KT Kore - Not wanting to kill people? Disabling instead of destroying? Enough for me to draw a link XD
@silverfire - That happens in so many anime, though. Link him with somebody else. Anybody but Kira…or Shinn…or anyone from the SEED universe. @_@
Link him with Hikaru from Macross since he does the same exact thing. Except Hikaru is awesome, not lame like Kira. =P
scottfrye - KT is also blogging this show as well, and his reviews are superb. We sometimes differ on opinions, though, so be sure to visit both our blogs.
silverfire - Ah, sorry, you were the first unmoderated post, so that counts for something, right?
I don’t quite remember Gundam Seed all that well since it’s been a while, but um…from what I can remember, I didn’t like some of Kira’s actions in GS, either. I didn’t watch all the episodes consistently, though, so I can’t really compare the two.
Yes, I’ve finally caught up and ready to blog the upcoming episodes! I can’t wait to see what Holland’s all about.
KT - I had some extra time to myself this week, so I took advantage of it and blogged away. Thanks for the compliment! I ♥ you, too.
It IS beautiful… and yeah.. Charles is one awesome character, as we will all grow to love him…
For now this is the last stand alone TV-14 episode. This episode was rated TV-14-LV. With the violence it seems like the Gekko Go is not all that different from the Nirvash. When am I going to see the kids again?
it is .i am :cool:and:neutral:
episode 26 is one of the best anime episodes ever!!!
