Basilisk #08 - Translated from Babel Fish

I just watched the Portuguese version of Basilisk last night, and I used Babel Fish to translate what was being said in this episode (a brilliant idea, thanks to Ren!). Since it isn’t translated very well, I’ve decided to re-word what was being said as best as I can. It still probably won’t make much sense, but I did the best that I could. Hope this helps some.

Tenzen: The Kouga and Iga can be compared to the rain that falls. It is not harmonious with the mountain, and perhaps it never was..

Oboro: Tenzen, what was it that you wanted to talk to me about? Tenzen?

Tenzen: I have thought about it, and I must recount what has happened. Oboro-sama, please, listen closely. The peace treaty between the Iga and Kouga was broken by the order of the great shogun Leyasu-sama during the trip to Sunpu.

Oboro: Tenzen… What are you telling me?

Tenzen: A suspicious scroll was shown to them. (Note: I can’t decipher what he’s really saying – here’s what it translates to on Babel Fish: When the suspicion they were finishing, was shown and a scroll to them.)

Oboro: Scroll?

Tenzen: It is necessary for Oboro-sama to also forget about this treaty.

Oboro: This can’t be true! Iga and Kouga are no longer at peace? (Babel Fish translates this segment to “in one dispute”) This did not have to happen! I’m certain that Gennosuke-sama will think the same.

Tenzen: Please wait. Until we know what the Kouga is thinking, you must be protected! (Babel Fish translation – “You must give attention, exactly that the Kouga thinks of this form, this relation you must be locked up!”)

Nenki: Rousai, what’s causing the delay in there? Tenzen is waiting for the scroll… What’s this! This is making me unhappy! (Babel fish translation: “Rendered unhappy!” – maybe Tenzen’s unhappy?)

Saemon: They arrested a Kouga woman?

Hotarubi: Yes! Okoi, a healthy young woman. Her name was written in the scroll.

Saemon: Scroll…

Hotarubi: Yashamaru-dono still did not see scroll?

Saemon: No… it’s not obvious that I haven’t.

Hotarubi: Yashamaru-dono?

Saemon: Where is this young woman?

Nenki: How much time have you spent with this Kouga woman? Huh? What is this? (Babel translation: “It has how much time, hein, Kouga woman? I felt its lack. But already it arrives! Its hour arrived! Huh? What it is this?” – this is the scene where Nenki finds Okoi alone.

Okoi: More… More… And I’ll be able to touch his skin… What?

Saemon: Okoi.

Saemon: I understand!

Okoi: B-Brother… Broth..er… Broth…er… Broth…er… Broth…er… Brother… Broth…er… (her last words before dying…)

Nenki: Ah! By the way… Yashamaru, what really happened in Sunpu?

Saemon: How about this, I’ll go explain it to Oboro-sama later.

Nenki: What was that creature? Is he still an idiot because of the poison? (Babel translation – “What it was, insect? Still he is idiot because of the poison?”)

Hotarubi: Oboro-sama still is in an important meeting with Tenzen-sama.

Nenki: Tenzen has a plan to convince her to understand some things. The fight between Iga and Kouga is inevitable. Oboro-sama needs to give up being with the Gennosuke.

Saemon: What’s Gennosuke still here for?

Nenki: Clearly that’s it! Tenzen’s certainly going to do something to scare Gennosuke. I do not know that methods he’ll want to use, but in the end, the superiority of us Iga will be evident.

Hotarubi: Is it aching in some place? (to Saemon - or in this case, “Yashamaru”)

(Saemon looks into Oboro’s eyes at this point…)

Nenki: Then who is this? Babel fish translation – “Its poor fellow! Then it was this?”

Koshiro: Hime-sama! (Oboro flies in the air, and Koshiro catches her in his arms)

Tenzen: Drug! (Huh? That’s the Babel fish translation…)

Akeginu: Scroll! Jingoro-dono, the parchment!

Jingoro: What? I’ll catch it! What? (He sees Gyoubu catching the scroll instead…)

Akeginu: What is that?

Koshiro: Kasumi Gyoubu

Hotarubi: He is from the Kouga! (Babel fish translation – “he is the man of Kouga! He is the man who the Yashamaru-dono was successful?”)

Tenzen: Don’t let them leave! Follow them!

Nenki: Wait over there!

Tenzen: Koshiro.

Koshiro: Yes?

Tenzen: Gather everyone together. (Babel fish translation – “It congregates all.”)

Gennosuke: Gyoubu… Saemon… Manji-Valley… Let’s leave and come back.
