Kouta was the first person who accepted Lucy for being different, and he even admired the horns that everyone else had used to alienate her. He kept his promise of meeting her at the spot where they’d first met, and he also took her to the zoo to see the strange animals. She was apprehensive about the idea initially, but ended up having a blast once she actually got to the zoo. Seeing that she was having such a good time, Kouta didn’t want to spoil the fun by telling her that he was going to the festival with his female cousin, and instead lied to her about the cousin being a boy. Lucy attended the festival to confess her feelings for Kouta, but caught him embracing his female cousin instead. Kouta…why did you have to lie? She was so livid and disgusted with people in general that she recklessly dismembered random bystanders to vent her anger and disdain for human beings.
I felt less sorry for Lucy in this episode only because of the fact that she blindly killed people without even thinking twice about it (slaughtering an entire household so she could have a place to stay), but she redeemed herself slightly once she realized that it was wrong to kill people who weren’t even hurting her in the first place. It’s so hard to judge her, though, because I would likely react the same way if I had her capabilities and had to go through her experiences as well.

The next ep10 will tell most of the necessary backstory - it seems that the diclos really do have a natural emnity towards humans. Remember the only scene when Nana really lost it against Bando? The used lines were almost 100% identical to Lucy’s when she gave in to her “evil” side: Kill all humans to make a place/world for me to live in. Even though both had totally unrelated experiences leading up towards it.
I’m rooting for the “human” Lucy in her fight against her “evil” counterpart… but the way things are developing, I’m not _too_ confident. This is a series which I can imagine very well to end in catastrophe.
(that was me up above)
Mentar - I have an inkling that this series will end in disaster as well. I just can’t see Lucy having a happy ending to her life as a diclonius, and I doubt she would ever truly be able to live a normal life as she is now, unfortunately.
:arrow: reply if you have the new episode or the extra for elfen, and does anybody has episodes of Hellsin

Diclonius are not killing machines. Rember in episode #3 how Kaurama said that their vectors had another purpose. Although diclonius are responsible for their actions they’ve been pushed to be prejuidice against humans. They’ve been ridiculed and tortured unmercilessly. I don’t feel like writing my political debate about diclonius again so check out my comment for episode #4 summary. In short though people did little to try and change diclonius nature. Instead of inhumane torture they should have been teaching them morals and bringing in the counsilors. Diclonius seem to turn sour do to human intervention. Are humans creating the true monsters? Yes, I’ll repeat that diclonius are responsible entirely for their actions but they haven’t been geting much help from humans. Nana is usually an okay diclonius unless pushed to the limit. This proves that the diclonius nature can be changed with a little more posotive reinforcement. And as I also explained in the episode #4 summary Lucy isn’t pure evil. We’ve seen mercy from her. She’s saved Kaurama, Khota, and Mayu. There’s definitely more to her than meets the eye. Don’t forget that Nyu used to be part of her. Both Nyu and Lucy are human. I don’t think the battle’s suppossed to be about one of them winning. They need to merge just like they used to be when she was a child ang before the bullet split them apart. Oh and Nyu does need Lucy. Lucy’s her only hope of being helpful and dependant in the world. Yes, this does seem like the kind of story that would end in a tradgedy but I sincerely hope that there is some way that Lucy can burry her past and live a happy life with all of her friends. Hopefully Kaurama and Miroku can find happiness as well. Oh and for more detail about the Mayu thing, Lucy didn’t hurt Nana or Mayu once she recieved a hug from Mayu. This is more proof that the diclonius nature can be altered if shown simple compassion. There is a greater purpose for all of these abused diclonius. I hope that everyone can figure this out in time, but I guess we’ll find out soon.
Lucy is so cute in this episode(not just this episode)but i thought i should say this because, well, just look at her.The top left and one down.Cute:smile:
