NANA.
I know I wrote in my last entry that I was getting tired of writing/watching NANA, but I couldn’t help myself once I saw the subbed episode available for download. I think my lack of enthusiasm for the last episode stemmed from the fact that it was kind of boring for me, but this episode is far from boring, and I am once again reminded of why I love this title. In a way, it’s kind of therapeutic blogging this show because I can actually relate to both characters, and it allows me to reflect on parts of my life as well.

We’ve had great episodes in the past demonstrating Renton’s amazing fighting skills as well as Holland’s willingness to sacrifice his own life for the greater good…but they find out that the secret to breaking through the Great Wall is to play a good game of…soccer? Who knew it would be that easy? Holland’s pretty gullible if he really believes that, but it must be true if it came from the mouth of Norbu…right? Oh god, I came back from an E7 hiatus only to watch another filler? NOOOOOOO!!!

Manga.

It’s been a long time since we’ve seen the latest release from this title, so I can’t begin to tell you how excited I was to see a new chapter scanlated by ShoujoMagic. I can’t say that I’m totally disappointed with this chapter, but I was kind of hoping for something a little…juicier in this chapter’s release. If you were hoping for some smut, you will end up very disappointed and/or sexually frustrated. However, the following chapter could very well lead to something interesting. Let’s just say that it looks like Yori may be in for some stiff competition… Heh.

NANA.
If you’re tired of reading my NANA posts, I don’t blame you. I’m getting tired of writing them! It’s been how many days since I’ve been blogging about this show? I’m afraid that I’ll become as ditzy as Hachi if I continue watching, and I think it’s time for a little breather. I’m kind of glad that there aren’t subs of episode #17 out yet because I’d feel compelled to write about it, and I’m not really in the mood to delve into Hachi’s mind any further. Doh, I spoke too soon! NANA #17 has been subbed, so I’ll think about blogging it when the download is completed.

NANA.
I can also see why a lot of people may be turned off by NANA since it’s a pretty depressing story. People like to watch anime to escape from their problems, not make it worse by watching something even more depressing than their real lives. I can understand that, and yet I enjoy watching people suffer bask in their own misery. I guess I don’t necessarily like watching people who are overly happy because I think it’s phony most of the time, and I’ll also admit that I’m jealous of their happiness. Weird, you say? Definitely.
