A House in Venice (Manga)

I just finished A House in Venice, and it’s a great read because it has all the elements of a romantic/mystery story, yet it won’t take you all day to finish it since it’s only two chapters long. To sum it up quickly, it’s about a college student named Rosa Brundo who moves to Venice to study abroad, and there’s something very eerie about the Venetian mansion she’s living at. She soon discovers that she’s not the only entity living there, and it’ll take an old painting to discover the secrets of the house… You can read more about it here. The artwork may take some getting used to, but the intriguing storyline will more than make up for it. You’ll definitely want to read it all the way until the very last page because it’ll be quite a surprise. Let’s just say that I wish I had Lorenzo in my life… Thanks to Lavendar Tinted for their wonderful scanlations. :)

On a side-note, Manga Jouhou has it listed under the genre of “Police, Shounen Ai.” This is not correct. It’s not a police story, nor does it contain any Shounen Ai. It should be categorized under Romance, Shoujo, and Mystery.

No Excuse

I have no excuse for my lackluster posting history since I don’t work or go to school, so the culprit must be due to sheer laziness as well as my inability to write anything that I feel is worthy of posting. I can’t seem to hash out multiple posts a day like other bloggers can, but then again I also live with five other noisy people in the house, and it’s too distracting to write unless I get up hours before everyone else. I need a refuge for peace and quiet…

714!!

Bonds finally hit Homerun #714! I’m so happy for him. :D

Eureka Seven #36

I’ve been spending a big chunk of my free time trying to write this post only to find myself failing miserably at any attempt of writing anything worthy of reading. I just didn’t find this episode very interesting, and I thought it was rather boring. For starters, I didn’t think it was necessary to spend so much time on Eureka’s infatuation with her appearance. Did anyone really care all that much? We’ve had great episodes in the past, but this one definitely ranked as my least favorite. I wanted to watch something with substance instead of this fluff about Eureka’s insecurity with her scars and romping around with her notebook (what was that all about?), and she ended up looking like a fool in front of everyone anyway. Fortunately, the episode doesn’t only focus on her, and we actually get to see the ever so mysterious Diane for a change. :)

Warm Muggy Weather = Happiness

It’s warm and muggy here in the city of San Francisco, and I’m soo loving it. I live in mostly cold and dreary weather year-round, so it’s nice to have an occasional day of warm weather. Great timing, considering it’s Mother’s Day. :D
