Manga.
I finally read up to chapter 40 of this wonderful manga, and I am not the least bit disappointed by how it has turned out so far. If any of you enjoyed reading Ai Yazawa’s Paradise Kiss or are currently enjoying the anime, you will be completely blown away by Nana. I originally wanted to read it because I heard from Parakiss fans that Nana had an even better storyline, so I thought I’d give it a try to see what all the hype was about. If you decide to read this, you will not be disappointed. It’s a definite page-turner, and you will not want to stop reading it until you can’t read any more (in my case, I can only read up to whichever chapter is translated). It’s still an on-going series, so the nice thing about this manga is that we’ll be able to get even more Nana goodness and hopefully be able to read a good conclusion to this complicated love story. I think I’m starting to enjoy reading manga even more than watching anime, but I will definitely not stray away from anime entirely. I still have so much to catch up to, and I intend to do that very soon. For now though, if you’d like to read my thoughts on Nana, please continue…

Manga.
I had the pleasure of watching the first few episodes of this very intriguing series during one of my exercising routines, and I instantly fell in love with the characters as well as the captivating storyline of Paradise Kiss. I particularly knew that I would love this show after the third episode when George passionately kisses Yukari in front of the Atlier. I immediately ran to my room to watch the rest of the subbed episodes, and it thoroughly satisfied my craving for a certain character until I ran out of episodes to watch. I couldn’t stand having to wait to see what would happen to our lucky heroine (and I have to admit, I like watching the show for those scenes…lol), so I decided to purchase the manga and spoiled myself silly by reading the first chapter all the way to its final conclusion. Now that I know how the story will end, I have some thoughts about it that I’d like to share with all of you. Please continue if you’re interested in reading.

Renton apparently has time to reflect back on his past and present experiences with his new “family” and admits that he’s fallen in love with his angel Eureka, although he would still like to know who (or what) she is and hopes that he’ll find the answer to his question sometime in the near future. The Corelian is still under heavy investigation of why it exists and what it is exactly, and everyone has described it as either a ghost or a monster. However, neither description is applicable since it cannot be described in words alone. In order to fully understand it, one must become the phenomenon.
Dominic has been busy investigating the Gekko-Go and its members and discovers from past reports that the TypeZERO was the first LFO the military had found and was discovered by three scientists - Doctor Yauchi, Doctor Diamond, and Adrock Thorston, who was famous for saving the world. He’s also learned that the LFO’s pilot, Eureka, was controlled under complete secrecy by the U.F. Force with no explanation as to why she was assigned to the SOF 1st Mobile Corps. She had mysteriously disappeared from the military two years and nine months ago, around the same time when a new ship had been built under the strictest secrecy and was not even off the assembly line, known as the SL-1200 Mk-II. Not only was the development of the ship unapproved by high-ranking military officials and the Prohibition Council, but its very existence had already been terminated to begin with.
Holland had brilliantly used this knowledge to his advantage by falsifying on-site documents as well as manipulating information in order to create a non-existent battle that made it possible for him to have the ship easily handed over to him. The military hadn’t even known about the ship’s existence beforehand and was undoubtedly taken by complete surprise. Not only did Holland send out a loud and clear “F*** You” message to the military, but he also made sure that everyone else knew about this new ship by exposing it to the public and even created his own media (ray=out), disclosing information on the Coralian that the military had carefully kept hidden from the public all that time. Basically, he wanted to create as much chaos for the military as possible and succeeded in achieving his goal.
This episode was pretty much a recap of past episodes, but it was nicely done and still very entertaining. I always wondered why the military was so invested on destroying the Gekko Go and especially its leader, and this episode was successful in explaining some of the questions that were unanswered from previous episodes. However, new questions have arisen such as the contents of the Ageha Plan and why it was unexpectedly dropped? Perhaps it’s been mentioned in previous episodes and I somehow missed it? If so, I’ll have to rewatch the previous episodes to see what I missed. In any case, this episode has definitely proven that Holland was and still is worthy of Renton’s admiration.
