Air #4

It was the first summer after their mother had died, and Kano believed that she would be able to see her again if she could only fly up to the sky. Hijiri felt bad about misleading her, but it was better than telling her that she no longer existed. It was then that Kano begun to act strange after touching a white feather that was at the shrine. She became afraid of bright lights, wandering aimlessly by herself, and mumbling meaningless words to herself. Hijiri found her one evening on the examination table with a scalpel penetrating her wrist, and it almost seemed as if Kano’s body were being possessed by another spirit. From that night on, she tied the bandana to Kano’s wrist and told her that she would be able to use magic if she wore the bandana until she was an adult. The magic was fabricated to keep her from cutting herself, but it lead her to believe that she would be able to fly in the sky someday.

Beck #13

Koyuki and the rest of the gang are all back at school after a long summer break, but the start of a new semester doesn’t look very promising for him. He hasn’t seen Maho ever since that night at the pool, and he also discovers that Hyoudou’s vastly improved on his guitar playing during the summer months. However, Koyuki’s had an amazing experience himself during the summer when he received the surprise (and compliment) of a lifetime.

Beck #12

Belle Ame’s been scheduled to perform along with Dying Breed at their “secret” live performance, but things don’t go quite as planned that evening for dear ol’ Eiji. As the lights dim and the band begins their first performance of the night, the energy level in that stadium skyrockets to a maximum. You can just feel the energy in that room as Eddie strokes his guitar and Matt belts out the words to “My World Down.” The crowd’s digging the music, and it’s absolutely intoxicating just watching them.

The real fun begins when Eiji’s called up on stage to perform, but Matt abruptly humiliates him and calls Koyuki up to sing instead. He’s understandably nervous on stage and begins to sing “Moon On The Water” on a sour note, but one look at Matt gives him the confidence to sing his best. The crowd loves it, and Maho’s certainly proud of him for doing so well in front of such a huge audience.

A week later, Koyuki’s still daydreaming about that night until he sees Maho clinging to another guy. It’s hurtful to see a significant other with someone else, and he wonders if that kiss even meant anything to her. The next day, though, he runs into Izumi-chan, and it’s so apparent that she likes him now that he’s finally cool enough for her tastes. He agrees to go swimsuit shopping with her (what guy would resist?), and joins her for a late-night swim the next evening at the same place where he and Maho had gone skinny dipping a year ago. That’s when she tells him that she has feelings for him, but it’s too late for her now that his heart belongs to Maho. However, things go terribly wrong when Maho sees the two of them together and runs away in tears, leaving Koyuki in a very uncomfortable spot.

Poor Koyuki, I really feel for him. I don’t think he would’ve agreed to go out with Izumi-chan if Maho hadn’t been so comfy with that other guy. What did she expect after that? At least things are finally looking up for BECK. After hearing Koyuki’s performance at the Dying Breed concert, they’ve been offered a chance to actually get noticed. At least Koyuki’s doing some good in that department. :)

I’ve also uploaded the live version of “Moon On The Water” here. I hope it gives you special memory, too.

Ah! My Goddess #3(Ah! Apprenticeship, My Home, and a Goddess)

Ah! My Goddess #3(Ah! Apprenticeship, My Home, and a Goddess)
“I guess the world is a difficult place if you don’t have money.” -Belldandy

As the episode begins Keiichi and Belldandy aren’t able to sleep so they begin to count sheep.
There is still a big of tension between the two due to things happening so quickly. Keiichi
has always been inept around women, and Belldandy is very positive in her thinking but has a
case of the butterflies. The day begins and Keiichi-san is concerned about finances and where
they will live. They look around for houses and apartments but with his budget it is impossible.
Belldandy wants to aid Keiichi so she initiates a charm to provide the wanderer what he needs.

It’s pretty handy to have a Goddess as your girlfriend. Belldandy finishes the incantation and
not a second after the little girl that Keiichi helped out finds him and her mother treats them
to lunch as thanks for Keiichi helping her. Keiichi is truly a great human being and while he is
not the luckiest guy in the world his goodness is returned with interest. Hijiri, the little girl
inquires if Belldandy is his bride. Keiichi coughs and spews his soft drink right into Hijiri’s
mom’s face. Belldandy who doesn’t have a covert bone in her body replies that she is not a
bride but a Goddess, and Keiichi lets the soda fly again. Hijiri-chan mentions that she has
never seen such fluttering clothes, and Belldandy asks if they are strange. She looks around
and notices that she stands out. She stands up and using her powers transforms her clothing
right in front of everyone. Keiichi makes a hasty retreat and lets her know that it isn’t safe
to use her powers in the city.

Keiichi and Belldandy begin the search for somewhere to live together. Keiichi is on a very
modest budget and seems to ask for too much on a one hundred and fifty dollar a month
stipend. He is rejected and thrown out of just about every realty company in the city.
Belldandy now understands how difficult it is to live in his world. Belldandy appreciates how
hard he is working to find them a place to stay and she asks the holy spirit if there is a place
for them to live. She uses Keiichi’s bill as the object and the bill is “spirited away” by her power.
Keiichi starts to panic due to the fact the bill is his only money that they have right now
for food. Keiichi and Belldandy chase after it. The bill ends up at a temple in the middle
of the city. The bill is $2,000 yen which is approximately $19.36671 US Dollars. Keiichi finds
the bill on the steps of the temple and tries to retrieve it.

The priest of the temple pummels Keiichi with a wooden pole thinking that thieves have come
to steal the offerings. He awakens with a huge lump on his head. Belldandy had been healing
him while he laid in her lap unconscious. The priest returns his money as an apology for
thrashing him. Keiichi asks if he and Belldandy can stay for that amount and he is willing to do whatever is needed. The monk agrees and guarantees them lodging and food for the night and
the money is for working on the temple. He says smiling, “Working at the temple is fun!”.
Keiichi beings to think that things are working out until the cleric works him like a government mule. Belldandy loves working on the temple and her spirit is cleansed as well as the temple.
The priest notices that she is illuminated while cleaning and does not quite understand. The
govt mule aka Keiichi is patching up the roof and complaining about how tough the priest is
and how much work is required. The roof cracks and he tumbles down, in comes Belldandy
to the rescue using her powers to conform the withered leaves as a cushion although she was
not supposed to use them.

The priest saw all of this and isn’t sure about what the woman is. He thinks that if she is
an evil spirit then she will show it at night. So he begins a stake-out in front of the couple’s
room. Belldandy being the Goddess that she is knows what is in his mind and goes outside.
She calls out and an angelic form comes out called Holy Bell. Belldandy and Holy Bell sing
a beautiful song together and heals the dilapidated temple. The temple that has been eroded
due to time and nature is brought back to it’s former splendor. The monk is in awe of Belldandy
and her “guardian spirit”. He admits that he is no match for her at his current state of enlightenment. To be further developed he goes on a nationwide training pilgrimage and he
asks that they take care of the temple. Things have worked out for the best, due to Belldandy’s
help and the kind-heartedness of Keiichi-san.

Kiba’s thoughts:
As the saying goes, “You reap what you sow”.
“Whatever you sow by your actions come back to you. If you make others happy through
service, charity and kind acts, you sow happiness like a seed; and it will give you the fruit of
happiness.” -Sri Swami Sivananda

That is the premise of this story, and it is a beautiful thought. If you applied it to people
today and looked into their lives would you find the same? Honestly I can’t tell you, but I’d
like to think that it would be. =D

Beck #11

The guys are doing whatever they can to help pitch in with the recording expenditures, so they’ve taken odd jobs during the day and performing live in the evenings. Back at school, Koyuki has to listen to a discouraging sermon from his instructor, then he overhears Hyoudou in the music room playing his guitar and notices how much he’s improved. Both him and Saku also get suckered into participating in the school’s Cultural Festival (thanks to Momo-chan’s…assets), where they’ll get the chance to participate in the contest for best guitarist, best vocalist, and best band.

Koyuki isn’t a fan of thrill rides, but he goes to the amusement park anyway because he knows that Maho enjoys it, and it doesn’t hurt to spend more time with her. :) Their time together doesn’t last much longer, though, because Maho develops a fever and isn’t well enough to continue. However, she doesn’t let that stop her from kissing Koyuki goodbye and reminding him that she’ll do whatever he wants as the ultimate reward for winning the swimming competition. (Koyuki, you better take advantage of that while she’s offering.)

During swimming practice, Koyuki asks Saitou-san how his first kiss was, but he gets a painful blow to the stomach as Saitou-san describes the historic experience of being kissed by an old hag and complains that he wants his youth back.

Ryuusuke and the rest of the gang decide to check out Eiji’s new band, Belle Ame, and they’re surprised at the level of energy of the predominantly female crowd, but they’ve also given up on rock and have sold out to the “safe” genre of pop music.
