Elfen Lied #4

Another exciting episode! Lucy gives Nana a fair warning before going postal on her, and the fight ends tragically with Nana’s dismembered body laying on the ground. It’s sad watching Nana getting ripped apart because she’s such a nice character, and she really had no intention of inflicting any harm on Lucy in the first place. Unfortunately, she was too nice, and that’s what ultimately causes her to lose to Lucy.

Yuka confesses her feelings for Kouta, but he doesn’t seem to get that, and he gets punched in the face for being a total moron. She leaves his house in tears and roams aimlessly around the marketplace when she catches Mayu with a bag of bread crumbs and learns that Mayu is homeless and depends on her daily rations of bread crumbs to feed herself and Wanta. She also runs into Nyuu on her way back to Kouta’s place and realizes that her jealousy of Nyuu is ridiculous.

Kouta gets a call from the hospital and takes Mayu home with him. It’s funny when she sees Nyuu and remembers her from earlier when she witnessed her going bizerk, but she chalks it up to being a weird dream. She stays at his place and finally gets to fill her stomach with a decent meal, and she also takes a bath with Nyuu, which is a hilarious scene. :)

Kurama is ordered to extinguish number seven, and he volunteers to inject a serum to put Nana to sleep. The way everyone is crying makes it look she’s dead, but I know from reading a certain blog that she’ll be back… ;)

Otogizoushi Screenshots

I couldn’t resist the temptation of capturing screenshots for this wonderful anime. It really has become my favorite series by far, and I’m patiently waiting for the next episode to be subbed and released. There’s one image I can’t get out of my mind, and it’s this one. :) Episode #1 screenshots can be viewed here.

I couldn’t make it to the Tales of Anime because of certain tasks I had to complete at home, but my boyfriend and I did get to hang out with a new friend (hey Stanny!), and we had a fun and relaxing dinner at Japantown. Later that night, we watched episodes #1-5 of Otogizoushi, and it’s quickly becoming my new favorite series. I absolutely adore Mansairaku, and I would love to see him and Hikaru together by the end of the series. My gibberish wouldn’t do justice to this show — if you want to read really good reviews on this series, drop by Ten’s and Sea Slugs! site to read their wonderful reviews. I just downloaded #6 & 7, and I’m about to watch them right now. :)

Naruto #98

Tsunade finally returns to Konoha as the new Hokage, and she begins her first day restoring Sasuke and Kakashi back to health. While she’s able to help those two get back on their feet, she examines Lee and doesn’t even bother to sugarcoat the fact that he’ll never be a shinobi again unless he agrees to undergo surgery, which would only guarantee a fifty-percent chance of success and a risk of death as well. Lee understandably walks away in silence after hearing the devastating news, and Gai lectures Tsunade on her lack of sympathy. She tells him that it’s better for him to know the truth now than prolonging the agony of waiting. Meanwhile, Konohomaru still doesn’t want to accept the fact that he’ll never see his grandpa again, and he’s even more upset that a new Hokage has replaced his grandpa so quickly. He even tells Naruto that he’s lying about Tsunade being the new Hokage. This episode was hilarious, but it also provided its share of heartache as well. Definitely ranks as one of the better episodes. :)

Elfen Lied #3

Oy, I got it all wrong. Nana really isn’t Kurama’s daughter, but he’s raised her as he would his own child. He sends her out on a mission to find Lucy, while Bando gets the bad news that he’ll have to get neutered in order to save humanity. Kouta gets sick, but he’s left with Nyuu to care for him, and she gets him everything but water. Fortunately, Yuka drops off some clothes for Nyuu just in time to help Kouta get some needed water, and she decides that it’s best to stay at his house to keep a close eye on him (and to curb her own jealousy of Nyuu as well). What’s the first thing she does since moving in? She makes poor Kouta wash all the floors, and Nyuu, wanting to be part of the action as well, helps him clean the floor. Kouta accidently rubs Nyuu’s breast, and she finds out that it’s a pretty nice feeling, so she wants him to continue. Of course, Yuka walks in just in time to watch the action, but she doesn’t appear to be jealous…until she gives him a hard smack on the cheek. However, later on that night she asks him if he wants to suck on her breasts. Okay

Lucy comes out after slipping from the dust cloth, and she almost annialates Kouta when he yells at her to stop. The weird thing about this scene, though, is that she has a flashback of him when he was young. Is that a hint? Remember, Kurama told Bando that people with the diclonius genes normally don’t live very long in nature, and as far as Kouta’s concerned, his sister died of a mysterious illness when she was little. However, that’s only what he’s been told. How would Lucy have a flashback of him as a child if she wasn’t his sister? Yes, must keep watching to found find out. Oops, must get out of stupid mode…
